About Ironfleet

Built by people who have signed the logbook.

Built by people who have signed the logbook.

Ironfleet exists because the best knowledge in aviation maintenance lives in people, binders and systems that do not talk to each other. We are fixing that. Leveraging AI to connect expertise, context, and evidence, to help organizations make faster, more confident decisions - and always keeping humans in control.

We call it: HUMAN INTELLIGENCE. AMPLIFIED.

OUR VISION

Built for aviation. Designed to go far beyond it.

Our vision is a future where critical expertise never leaves an organization - and every decision benefits from the collective knowledge of the people, systems, and experience that came before.

We believe AI has a powerful role to play in maintenance: not replacing human expertise, but amplifying it. By bringing institutional knowledge into the flow of work, organizations can equip technicians to make faster, better-informed decisions, improve operational performance, and deliver a consistently better customer experience.

At the heart of that belief is a simple principle: the future of maintenance intelligence should be shaped by the people who understand the work - not imposed by those who don’t. That’s why we’re building from within the industry, combining deep domain expertise with AI designed for the realities of complex, high-stakes operations.

What we believe

Four founding principles.

01

Human accountability

A certificated person makes the call. Software supports the decision; it never owns it.

02

Trust, but verify

Every answer shows its evidence so it can be checked. If the evidence runs out, the answer can't be found, the system says so.

03

Respect the expert

The technician who knows the aircraft is the asset. We make their knowledge durable and keep their name on it.

04

Built for the hangar

Designed for the environment it needs to operate in, desktop, tablet, mobile, or voice commands for greasy hands.

Our team

Technicians, engineers and operators.

Our team combines FAA-certificated A&P technicians, software engineers with regulated-industry experience and operators who have run flight departments and repair stations.

Kevin DeCoster

Kevin DeCoster

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Kevin co-founded Ironfleet with Cory Smith, a lifelong friend and career maintenance professional, to tackle a problem the whole industry feels: hard-won maintenance knowledge walking out the door as experienced people retire. A software engineer by background, he leads Ironfleet’s strategy, platform and partnerships, building technology that amplifies the people who keep aircraft flying rather than replacing them.

Cory Smith

Cory Smith

Co-Founder

Cory brings three decades of aircraft maintenance and management experience, including service as a Maintenance Superintendent in the U.S. Air Force, where he led maintenance teams focused on aircraft availability, safety and compliance with military and FAA directives. His firsthand experience with incomplete shift handovers, and troubleshooting context lost between shifts, is where Ironfleet’s focus on knowledge continuity began.

Mike Brown

Mike Brown

TECHNICAL Advisor & TIN Founding Member

Mike has spent 25 years in aviation maintenance, starting with five years on F/A-18s in the U.S. Marine Corps before moving to large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft out of Savannah, where he has worked for nearly two decades. He founded OnChain Aviation, a mobile maintenance company for Gulfstream operators, and uses aviOS daily on the aircraft he manages. At Ironfleet he works where maintenance meets AI.
